I'M ENGAGED!

I have just recently got engaged! It was a really beautiful proposal which my fiancé poured all his heart into preparing. I have always imagined what I would do when I am proposed to but no matter how much I mentally prepared myself, I still got thrown off so much that day I did not react the way I wanted to. It also took me a few weeks to finally process what actually happened. That aside, I discovered a really good wash-off mask that I want to share with you, shall we?

I just came back from Korea in September and it was my first trip abroad with my boyfriend. We explored Myeongdong and paid a visit to the infamous Nara Island. It was an eye-opening experience for both of us. The masks there are super cheap. Innisfree masks there are like RM2 each and Dr. Jart+ masks sold in All Mask Story are like RM36 per pack (each pack has 5 pieces)? Innisfree was having some sort of buy 10 free 10 promotion so we bought 120 of the masks haha!

Isn't that a really long name for a mask? Recently been trying to read more and I stumbled upon a book by Trevor Noah, "Born A Crime". Well, actually it was introduced to me by my boyfriend haha. It was so interesting read that I finished it in 2 days. It was more like an autobiography and man, that was a book that really opened my eyes, after Eat Pray Love. I am going to write a review on the book soon, something I haven't done in so long!

STRESS-RELATED ACNES

I recently realised that my acne issue is seasonal and is 100% due to the stress caused by my work schedule. I had been having really bad acnes during the first half of the year, which subside and totally recover in the second half of the year. When it nears the end of the year, the entire cycle repeats itself and it collides perfectly with the stress level at work! TT But I don't really feel stressed physically! Is that how my body is telling me I should start paying more attention to the stress?

My way of tackling stress at the moment: MASKING. And blogging. LOL.

CAN'T WAIT TO SHEET MASK

My eyes had been swollen for the past few days it has been difficult for me to take pictures and test out sheet mask. 😭 What's worse is I couldn't even put on concealer when I headed out so it looked really funny with me having concealer on only one of my eyes. So I waited a week plus for it to calm down before I start using any sheet mask again. I really don't know what caused the infection but one thing I learnt is that please don't rub your eyes if it feels itchy. Just hold back the urge!

I keep telling myself I don't need another cleansing water. I already have two bottles sitting untouched on my shelves and one currently in use. I don't need another one, I don't. And one moment later, I am sitting in my living room, anticipating the arrival of the Son & Park Beauty Water. Self-restraint is hardly a term I live by when it comes to beauty products. I have to always double convince myself (and stay away from my boyfriend) whenever I am trying to stop myself from buying something.

BEST MONTH EVER

This is by far the best month ever since I started work. I took two months off for my last ICAEW paper (read my ICAEW journey here and here) and I honestly don't think I need that much time-off. Even our lecturer urged us to go back to work since there is not much to study until the Advanced Information (the first part of the exam paper for Case Study) comes out. But I had taken the leave anyway, why not just indulge myself again in doing something I love? (Like being here 😚)

I wrote this post on the most historic day of Malaysia ever, 9th of May. That's why you will see in some of the pictures below that one of my fingers is stained with an indelible bluish purple ink. It's not from the mask, neither it's from work. It's from my performance of duty as a 'rakyat' (it means citizen in Malay) of Malaysia. So, I hope you don't mind! HAHA! I needed something to distract my mind from being anxious waiting for the results, here comes a review!

DIE HARD FAN

I love clay mask. I put on clay mask at least once a week to draw out all the impurities and dirt that I "collected" in my pores during the week. But clay masks sometimes create quite a mess and it takes a lot of time just to put on and wash off. Despite how much I love the after- effect, sometimes I just feel too lazy having to use a brush to put on the mask, wash it off (that takes at least 10 minutes every time grr) and clean the bathroom floor afterwards. Yes, it dirties the floor all the time.

FOR THE FIRST TIME
 I'm finally going to review a peel-off mask. Not sure if I mentioned here before, but my skin doesn't really like products that have high level of alcohol. It will become hot and flushed and it's just not something I'd like to do to my skin. Usually a peel-off mask would come with a high concentration of alcohol because it needs to dry off in 15 minutes so that you can peel it off later. Which is why I've never really tried to review one here because I cannot take a picture without looking all red and ugly.
