I was strolling past Watsons one day and I noted some new additions to the shelf in the store. They come in tubes and there are four different colours. Intrigued, I walked in and picked out one to take a close look at. It was indeed a new addition not just to Watsons but also to the brand ID.AZ, of which I've reviewed some of its sheets masks previously. Check them out here: Gold Mask, Brightening Mask and Hydrating Mask.
GOOD SELF CONTROL
No, I didn't end up buying any of them. I promised myself not to buy anything until and unless I've finished up the clay masks I currently have in my bathroom cabinet. However, just the next day, I found myself staring at a campaign by The Butterfly Project and I just couldn't resist the temptation. I signed up and a little less than a week later, I have all four of the new ID.AZ clay masks sitting on the cupboard in my bedroom.
FOUR VARIANTS
The ID.AZ Clay Masks come in four variants, each having its own functions. What's fascinating about these clay masks is that they reminded me of Innisfree's Jeju Volcanic Colour Clay Masks, which has more colours and are in the same size as ID.AZ's. The ID.AZ versions cost RM44.25 (after discounts) while the Innisfree ones cost RM30. Hmm, they seem to be slightly pricier, don't they? But having tried their obviously-higher-quality sheet masks, I have good faith in these.
ENOUGH 'BOUT THAT
We have the sizes and the prices down, so, what are these four variants that I'm talking about? Here we go (in the order of which I'm about to use them): Oil Control (Green), Pore Clean (Grey), Brightening (Yellow) and Hydrating (Pink). The names are pretty much speaking for themselves. Nonetheless, let me still give each of them a short introduction.
LET'S PLAY

I used this on my oiliest areas, i.e. my nose and my forehead, where I want the oil to be gone.
MY VERDICT
My skin could immediately feel the cooling effect when I put on the mask. Despite being a clay mask, it also felt very moisturising on the skin and was easy to spread. The effect lasted around two-three hours after washing off the clay mask. My face was immediately shine free after the mask but oil came back a while after. The mask contains Camellia Japonica Flower Extract, Chlorella Minutissima Extract and Avocado Fruit Extract which are great for sebum-control.

Acne-Fighting: Salicylic Acid
Anti-Aging: Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Lactic Acid

I used a clean brush to put on the masks. What's on my skin is the Oil Control Clay Mask.
MY VERDICT
The clay mask is made with Hawaiian Misato Clay. It can help exfoliate and soften the skin as it contains both AHA (Lactic Acid) and BHA (Salicylic Acid). I put it on both sides of my nose as I have some enlarged pores around the area. I thought it did its pore tightening job pretty well because I can feel the tightening effect right after removing the mask and even a few hours after removing the mask. If I had to choose a favourite from these four, this would be the one!

ID.AZ Dermastic Brightening Clay Mask
My first yellow mask!
INGREDIENT LIST
(SkinCarisma)
Brightening: Ascorbyl Glucoside
UV Protection: Titanium Dioxide
I figured my cheekbones and under-eye areas could use some brightening effect.
MY VERDICT
This one has the faintest smell of all comparing to the rest of the clay masks. It smells like the Pore Clean version but is much much milder. It contains Vitamin C derivative (Ascorbyl Glucoside) and Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, which are known for their brightening properties. It is made of Amazonian White Clay (despite the colour haha) and is suitable for those who want a more rejuvenated look after a long working week (like me!).
ID.AZ Dermastic Hydrating Clay Mask
This smells just like the April 22 Rose Energy Cream.

Promotes Wound Healing: Sodium Hyaluronate

Using the pink one to cover the rest of my face. I thought I'm pretty bad at painting but this doesn't look so bad haha!
MY VERDICT
Haven't exactly identified myself as a pink-lover, I like the colour of this one the most. Made with Moroccan Lava Clay, this mask contains Leontopodium Alpinum Flower/Leaf Extract and Sodium Hyaluronate. These ingredients allow the mask to be intensively moisturising and that's what I felt when I was spreading the mask out on my skin. I could feel the hydrating being pumped into my skin and I've not used any clay mask that has such ability before!
Here's how I look after I've put on all four of the mask. I look ridiculous, don't I? HAHA!
HOW TO USE
It's simple. Before putting on the mask, thoroughly cleanse your skin to remove dirt and put on your favourite toner to prep your skin. After that, use a brush or with bare hands, apply the mask. You can apply one mask to your whole skin or paint your skin like how I did according to your skin conditions. Unlike other masks, these only require a short period of 5 minutes. When the timer is up, wash your face with warm water and voila, you're ready to dash out the door looking beautiful!
A quick before-after for you to see the pore tightening effect and how my skin texture is way smoother than before.

Hi, after we cleanse the mask, can we put our products like mosturizer and serum, or we have to ?
ReplyDeleteYes, you can! And I recommend it. :) You can put on toner first then follow by those. This will help lock moisture back into your skin and enhance the effect. :D
