|SPECIAL STORY| March On With Elizabeth Arden: Women Empowerment

ALL I THINK ABOUT IS..
When I first saw the name "Elizabeth Arden", the first thing that came to my mind was the Advanced Ceramide Capsules, yeap that one below👇🏼👇🏼. HAHA I guess none of you are surprised by that. But when I dug further to understand more (yeah, I'm that random and spontaneous), I finally realised that Elizabeth Arden is more than just a brand. It is the masterpiece of a legendary innovator who was ahead of her time and applied a holistic approach to beauty and technology-driven skincare.

ICAEW Story: Why Did I Choose to Study CFAB ICAEW?

BRINGING BACK SOME STORIES
I've been doing so many skincare reviews lately I've totally left out on the "My Stories" side of my blog. It's been a while since I last talked about my studies / profession and I've received quite a few emails from you guys on this. So let's talk about why I went for CFAB-ICAEW instead of CAT-ACCA (from now onwards I will just use ICAEW and ACCA) because this is by far the most asked question haha.

Surprise Surprise: Nominated For Blogger Recognition Award!

Being nominated for an award is the best thing that could happen. Especially when it comes to my blog. I've spent so much time on it, it's feels good to be noticed by a fellow blogger! It's a place I share skincare reviews with you peeps and I've never thought I could ever get to where I am if without your support!

First thing first, I want to thank Nabeeda Bakali from The World of Nabeeda for the nomination. You've seriously made my day when you left a comment on my blog! Thank you for the award and now I'm going to pass it on to another 15 of you.

|REVIEW| Food Review: Ben's (A Birthday Celebration!)

ben's food review
Someone's growing old! And it's a day to celebrate!

Dad was asking me for my opinion on where to go for the much awaited celebration. Instinctively, my mind ran to Publika. There is where we always go for food because it has so many restaurants (that are really famous and genuinely good) and it is very close to where we live. By the time we reached home, I decided to fake my absence (yes I am totally a naughty kid). I told daddy to tell mummy I didn't go home and the rest was up to him to respond.

|REVIEW| Book Review: The Fault In Our Stars (SPOILER ALERT)

I know. I know. This is an old book published in January 2012 blah blah blah. But as lazy as I am, I have only started reading her (she sounds like a girl to me) recently and finished her two nights ago (well, technically it was last morning).

To be fair, I didn't pick her because I love romantic novels or admire John Green (sorry mate) or anything. The sole reason I got my hands on her (that sounds a bit weird to me, to you?) was just because I wanted to see how big the difference would be when she is portrayed on the silver screen. Alas, I hated (you can never hate yourself too long) myself for that. Why? Because all I was doing during the movie was

8 Reasons Dentistry Is Not For You (The Climb)

NOTE:
I am not discouraging anyone from choosing this path but please think hard before you do so because once you're in, it takes a lot to leave (in case you ever wanna, touchwood).
But if you're sure this is what you want, why even bother reading?
GO AHEAD AND READ SOMETHING MORE INSPIRING!

!!WARNING!!
To those who are already in dentistry, believe in what you chose.
If you really want to read, read at your own risk and just to make it clear, each of them should never be the stand alone reason you have for not wanting dentistry.

A song of inspiration: The Climb by Miley Cyrus (my Miley guilty pleasure).

A Skill We Need to Learn: Accepting Negativity

WOMAN, WE WANT OPTIMISM, SPARE US YOUR PETTY LITTLE MIND.

If that's your first thought when you saw the title, maybe you should read on.

A few months ago, I stepped up for myself and made a significant change to my future. In no way in the past would I be able to imagine that I would choose to be an accountant because I used to flinch just at the thought of studying Accounting. Seeing how my dad has to work his butt off, most of the time burning the midnight oil, to give us a good life repels me. So I marched into the health profession so gloriously, which all of you know resulted in me running away from it after First Year and me entering what I used to see as a nightmare.

8 Ways On How To Recover From Embarrassment

There are times when I forgot that I'm 22 now and got stuck reliving all the embarrassing moments I experienced when I was little. The flashback attacks came so suddenly it's often difficult to defend myself from the whirlpool. In my opinion, the embarrassing moments are the hardest to overcome. They stick with you and play with your mind even though you may be the only one who's feeling awkward about the situation. It takes loads of energy and time to minimise the effect they do to your mind until you do not cringe at every re-run of the moment.

What prompted me write this post is my recent episode of embarrassment in class.

Chinese New Year

It is again the time here in Malaysia to celebrate the Chinese New Year. In the past, this was undoubtedly the most anticipated holiday of the year because I did not have to go to school for at least 10 days and I got to 'collect' angpaos (translate: red packets which contain money) from the marrieds/elders! Of course, the excitement also included the one and only chance to touch and ignite the now-illegal (or maybe it always is illegal) firecrackers.

This year is special.

Accountant Wanna-bes: So What's ICAEW?

My ICAEW Story: Semester X (Sunway University College)

Image from AJMY

With the internship in the middle, I've totally lost count of the semesters I've been in. It should be around semester 7 or 8 now? Let's call it semester x. (Look at how lazy I've got, I don't even care to count anymore.) Currently I'm on my fifth last paper. Why fifth? Because there are a total of 15 papers in this professional programme. I know I could've said 11th paper but I count better when the number is smaller! And yeah, I'm going to be an accountant, you can put your trust in me no worries!

(In case you have no idea what I'm talking about there, here is an old post by me on ICAEW when I was in Semester one!)

Monthly Special: Taylor Swift - The Best Day (Appreciation)

She was still so young.

A title borrowed from the singer I love the most for the longest time of my life, Taylor Swift. I make her an idol of mine for so many reasons (stop teasing me, Sushitra) if I am to write them down one by one I would most probably have to write forever. She is strong, she never gives up, she is determined, she is confident, she writes songs, her lyrics link, she is pretty (undeniable), she connects, she loves people, she shares stories, she......

ICAEW Story: Recounting Semester 1 (Sunway University College)

ICAEW sunway

I SURVIVED ONE WEEK. ONE WEEK! ONE WHOLE WEEK WITHOUT MY LAPTOP.  Hi Flintstone. I'm officially one of your time. Wanna be friends? I can teach you how to make fire.

Four weeks has flown by. The day before commencement, I moved into the hostel, Sunway Monash Residence (SMR). Just a few weeks before this, I decided to switch to Accounting (ICAEW) and have chosen Sunway for it. Heh, it was already too late for me to have a say on where to stay (dum dum was too lazy to drive). Now I walk 15-20 minutes on the canopy walk (which is worse than driving) each day to school and regret this decision of mine-but-not-really-mine.

I Switched From Dentistry to Accounting

When I started writing this post, the first title name that came into my mind was night changes. I thought it would fit perfectly. However, it is not conveying what I intended as well as this title now so I changed.

The first time I stumbled upon that song I fell in love with it immediately. However, as much as I'd like to talk about this song whole day there is some news more important that I have to break to you.

A decision that seems rushed and hasty, a mind that makes up in time deemed short, a letter that takes two difficult weeks to get through, a week that is full of love and hate.

One simplified summary of the period of change that impacts a lot on my future because....

ICAEW Story: ICAEW In Short

ICAEW at Sunway

For those of you who have only clicked in for the first time, right now I'm studying ICAEW at Sunway College. It is a professional accounting programme similar to ACCA (which is also equivalent to an accounting degree) with slightly different examination format and course structure. It used to be the MOST prestigious accounting programme (chartered mah) available only in the UK until Sunway College obtained the qualification to teach in Malaysia.
