I FELL PREY
I keep telling myself I don't need another cleansing water. I already have two bottles sitting untouched on my shelves and one currently in use. I don't need another one, I don't. And one moment later, I am sitting in my living room, anticipating the arrival of the Son & Park Beauty Water. Self-restraint is hardly a term I live by when it comes to beauty products. I have to always double convince myself (and stay away from my boyfriend) whenever I am trying to stop myself from buying something.

YAS, THE GOOD ONES
Rosa Damascena is a very fragrant pink rose. Rosa Damascena Flower Water can deeply hydrate our skin and soothe irritations as its petals contain skin-soothing and antioxidant compounds. Not just that, inhaling its scent can help our mind relax.
For oily skin peep, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water is your best friend. It has soothing effect and is known for its protectant properties on the skin.
Butylene Glycol is a powerful moisturiser. Hence this could potentially be a life saver for those of you with extremely dry skin!
Since young, I was told that papaya is very rich in carotenoids (antioxidants that good at fighting off the appearance of ageing and sun damage) and Vitamins A, B and C. Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Water is therefore amazing at rejuvenating and tightening the skin and it also has some anti-inflammatory benefits which can help reduce redness and irritation of our skin.
If you are constantly battling with acne, you should get to know Melaleuca Alternifaolia (Tea Tree) Extract because it can become a great friend of yours. It has the ability to dry out acnes and help soothe inflammation.
Glycerin can help keep the skin hydrated and keep the overactive oil glands under control.
Citric Acid is an anti-ageing ingredient. It is a kind of AHA which can act as a pH buffer i.e. to help adjust our skin's acidity. Not just that, it also promotes skin peeling (exfoliation) and re-growth which is why it is frequently used in anti-aging products.
You can find the Beauty Water's expiry date, months of usage after opening and the volume at the bottom of the bottle.
NAH, THE BAD ONES
For sensitive skin beauty lovers, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil may potentially irritate your skin if it is at a concentration too high. However, seeing that its position in the ingredient list above is quite low, indicating that its concentration here is not too high, so I don't think it should be causing you to have any concern. I would still recommend patch testing (I always do) before applying it to your whole face.
I have always been allergic to products with alcohol. I can't take a reasonable amount of alcohol without getting bumps all over my skin, including my face. Alcohol is known to dry out quickly. That said, when on skin, it evaporates quickly, bringing away moisture with it. People with dry skin should try to avoid any product with alcohol and if you're sensitive/allergic to alcohol like me, avoid them at all cost too!
Phenoxyethanol can potentially cause skin and lung irritation so if you know that your skin has not dealt well with Phenoxyethanol in the past, beware!
p.s. Concentration of an ingredient is normally indicated by its position in the ingredient list. More highly positioned equals to more highly concentrated.
PATCH TEST, ALWAYS!
I strongly encourage you to patch test before applying it all over your face. Swab a small amount of the product on your wrist or behind your ear and wait around 24 hours to see how your skin reacts. If your skin experiences any burning effect or has any irritation that is not supposed to accompany the product, wash it off immediately and seek medical attention if the irritation doesn’t go away after washing.
BRINGING IN THE SENSES
The beauty water smells refreshingly citrusy (my favourite scent!). That's because it contains a lot of citrus fruits, e.g. orange, grapefruit, etc. which provides an excellent source of Vitamin C (Vitamin C helps smoothen out skin texture and strengthen the skin barrier). As a pH4.5 cleansing water/toner, it is watery and very lightweight. It never stings, not even on the eye area/fresh acne wounds but still, I advise against using this on the delicate eye area as it may cause irritation for some people.
USING AS A CLEANSING WATER
Gather your cotton pads and the Son & Park Beauty Water and you're ready to go. Just pour a little of the Beauty Water on a cotton pad and gently wipe across your face in an outward motion. Go slow when you're near the eye area and from what I learnt recently, you can lightly dab it if your skin is prone to sensitivity. Repeat until you find your cotton pad clean without any makeup/yellow residue. You can wash it off with a second cleanser afterwards. It can be used in the a.m. and/or p.m..
USING AS A TONER
This can also double up as a toner, which saves costs and space because you don't have to buy cleansing water and toner separately! With all the skincare benefits that it comes with (see ingredients breakdown above), this toner is evidently beneficial for the skin. Personally I only use it as a cleansing water because I have another toner that I prefer and only at night. I use this Beauty Water on days where I am not wearing any makeup or as a second step in my triple cleansing process.
The Beauty Water removed my Nars Honey Concealer with just one wipe! It's however not very effective on anything waterproof and will require multiple rather vigorous wipes to get the waterproof makeup on.
DOES IT WORK?
As a second cleanser, it effectively takes off all remaining residue of makeup I have left on my face after Bioderma did the first cleanse. On days where I am makeup-free, it cleans all the dirts away like a magic broom too. I have never broken out once ever since I found out how to use this Beauty Water properly. It has never irritated my skin or caused any redness. But like I said earlier, patch test before going full face to avoid any potential problems.
WOULD I RECOMMEND?
Get it. I never thought I would say that when I first bought it but I love it. It smells amazing and it does what it claims by creating a clean base for the next steps in my skincare. Every time after use, my skin feels rejuvenated, smooth and even thinly covered in moisture. At the same time, my mind feels relaxed and ready for bed, thanks to the mind-claming scent from the Rosa Damascena Flower Water it contains. Guess there's a reason it's a 2015 Soko Glam Beauty Award Winner!
