Jumiso All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum review

DISGUSTING ACNES
My skin has gotten really bad recently with all the big deep cystic acnes launching missiles onto the surface of my skin. I have no other way than to keep icing them to calm them down. At the same time, I was trying to find a product that can help soothe and brighten my skin after all the acnes are gone to reduce the appearance of those unwanted dark marks. Recently, I came across the Jumiso All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum and have decided to write a review on it, interested? Read on!

The ingredient list and all things you need to know about the serum is available on the packaging.

YAS, THE GOOD ONES
Also known as Sea Buckthorn, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract is a super ingredient that is effective on the skin for burns, wounds, cuts and any kind of skin damage. This is due to its high content of carotenoids, giving it potent cell-regenerating, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It also absorbs into the skin very quickly.

Glycerin can help keep the skin hydrated and keep the overactive oil glands under control.

Niacinamide is a vitamin B3 derivatives best known for its skin brightening properties. It can reduce pigmentation as it prevents melanin from migrating to the epidermis. With this, this product is able to help bring out the glow and give the dull skin a good makeover.  Not just that, it also has anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties, allowing it help reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion!

Sodium HyaluronatePanthenol and Butylene Glycol are all powerful moisturisers. Hence this could potentially be a life saver for those of you with extremely dry skin! Panthenol is also known for its ability to promote wound healing, as well as alleviate other irritations like eczema.

All the info is available in Korean as well since this is a Korean product.

YAS, THE GOOD ONES (contd.)
Centella Asiatica Extract is known for its skin-calming properties. Mainly found in shady and damp areas in many different parts of the world, Centella (a.k.a. tiger grass because wounded tigers were often seen rolling in it to heal their wounds) is a small plant that grows up to around six inches in height. Also called the “miracle elixirs of life”, researchers have found that Centella Asiatica Extract facilitates the healing of cuts and burns as it can promote collagen production and inhibit inflammation which results in scarring.

Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract is a rich source of epigallocatechin gallate, which is one of the most powerful antioxidants available. Moreover, Green Tea Extract is a good anti-inflammatory agent. It can help reduce skin inflammation (go away acnes!) and inhibit the action of collagenase (an enzyme that breaks down collagen).

Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract is good for fighting acne, skin brightening and calming the skin. It can also diminish the appearance of under-eye dark circles, discolouration and even age spots as well as acting as a powerful antioxidant to protect the skin from environmental stressors and balance oil.

Betaine is a gentle hydrating ingredient that naturally occurs in skin and the body or could be plant-derived or synthetic, which can help balance our skin's hydration.

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is great in promoting wound healing. It can help fade scars and improve our skin texture as it also mildly exfoliates.

Rosa Damascena is a very fragrant pink rose. Its extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil can deeply hydrate our skin and soothe irritations as its petals contain skin-soothing and antioxidant compounds. Not just that, inhaling its scent can help our mind relax.

This serum has one of the best droppers that I've ever used. Its rubber bulb is strong enough to draw the serum until it fills up the entire glass tube.

NAH, THE BAD ONES
For sensitive skin beauty lovers, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil may potentially irritate your skin if it is at a concentration too high. However, seeing that its position in the ingredient list above is quite low, indicating that its concentration here is not too high, so I don't think it should be causing you to have any concern. I would still recommend patch testing (I always do) before applying it to your whole face.

The serum is a transparent liquid.

VITAMIN POTION
Just to make it clear, the Jumiso vitamin serum is not a vitamin C serum. Instead, it is a non-water-based serum that contains various vitamin complexes such as A, B, C, D, E, and K which can help nourish, brighten and soothe the skin as well as giving some elasticity care, which is great in maintaining the health of the skin. According to Jumiso, it can also help keep the skin radiant and is suitable for all skin types. My skin has never felt any stinging sensation or irritation when I use this serum.

After spreading out the serum before patting it in.

SWEET AND TRANSPARENT
The serum has the typical sweet serum scent. Unlike most vitamin serums, its scent is very calming and will not linger long on the skin after application. So for those of you who like scentless products, you will like this! It came in a transparent orange bottle and its liquid is transparent as well. Hence there is no risk of it staining your pillows when you go to sleep after applying the serum. It is also not sticky at all after application, which is amazing!

After patting in, it dries down to a comfortable non-sticky finish.

HOW TO USE
After washing my face, I will put on toner before putting on the serum. I will drop one drop each on my cheeks and my forehead, then use my fingers to massage and gently pat the serum in. The serum is very lightweight and semi-watery. It is very easy to pat in and can be absorbed by the skin very quickly. I use it both in the AM and PM, and will follow up with a thicker consistency serum before I apply moisturiser. It is very suitable for layering due to its lightweight texture.

I used the dropper to directly drop it on my face.

MY VERDICT
Since this All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum is more on nourishing and balancing the skin, I believe it has helped prevent the growth of more crazy cystic acnes that would have otherwise colonise my face and kill my entire skin. My skin tone also looks less dull even though I am sleeping less than 6 hours a day now (been binging dramas haha). I wouldn't make it a holy grail but it does make a small difference to my current skin condition. I'd repurchase when there's a discount!

Can you see that my skin texture is a lot smoother and pores a little less visible? My skin looks more refreshed even though I was heavily sleep-deprived.
