POPEYE OF ESSENCE
Reading the title probably got you like...whuttt? What is this lady trying to convey? LOL. This serum is a moisturising supergirl. It has the capability to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Why so? That's because it is made up of pure hyaluronic acid powder. Isn't that AMAZING? Hyaluronic acid has long been an ingredient frequently used in skincare due to its hydrating abilities. Because of that, it is also my favourite skincare ingredient. 💙

Safety index ranges from 1-9 and the lower the number means the less hazardous. Those with asterisk (*) are more likely to cause acne or irritate skin than those without.

YAS, THE GOOD ONES
Glycerin can help keep the skin hydrated and keep the overactive oil glands under control.
As we age, collagens in our skin are being generated more slowly than they are being broken down. This is why most of our skin gets drier and we tend to get more wrinkles and fine lines as we grow old. With Hyaluronic Acid, it can help stimulate collagen synthesis and is wonderful at retaining our skin moisture, which makes it a magical anti-aging ingredient because youthful-looking skin is one that is properly moisturised, supple and with minimal wrinkles and fine lines!
Panthenol and Butylene Glycol are both powerful moisturiser. Hence this could potentially be a life saver for those of you with extremely dry skin!
Hyaluronic Acid and Panthenol are also known for their abilities to promote wound healing, as well as alleviate other irritations like eczema.
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), is great in promoting wound healing. It can help fade scars and improve our skin texture as it also mildly exfoliates.
NAH, THE BAD ONES
Phenoxyethanol can potentially cause skin and lung irritation so if you know that your skin has not dealt well with Phenoxyethanol in the past, do be cautious this!
PATCH TESTING
I strongly encourage you to patch test before applying it all over your face. Just swab a small amount of the product on your wrist or behind your ear and wait around 1 day to see how your skin reacts. If your skin experiences any burning effect or has any irritation that is not supposed to accompany the product, wash it off immediately and seek medical attention if the irritation doesn’t go away after washing.
Each ML costs RM2.97 and it lasts about 3-4 months.
HOW TO USE
After cleansing and toning the face, take the dropper and drop one drop each on the forehead and cheeks. Use your fingers to spread it out and pat it in gently with your palms. You can also drop it on your palms, warm it a little and gently pat it on the skin. This super hydrating HA Temptation Booster by b.liv can be used twice daily or as needed. I personally use it once at night because I am too lazy to wait for it to soak in the morning (always stealing the extra 5 minutes of sleep haha).
GIMME THE FEELS
The hyaluronic acid essence looks little cloudy. When dropped on the skin, it feels cool (disclaimer: I kept it on my vanity, never in the fridge haha) and comfortable. The smell is so faint that I almost couldn't detect anything. This Hyaluronic Acid Essential Booster does not contain any fragrance which is great for skincare addicts who hate heavy smelling product. It might feel a little sticky before it dries down especially if you apply a thick layer.
It is quite sticky right after application.
WHAT DO I THINK
Honestly, if not for the price, I wouldn't hesitate about repurchasing it. It keeps my skin cool and properly moisturised throughout the day and prevents my skin from drying out when I sleep in air-conditioned room. I love a good hydrating essence that doesn't have a heavy smell and does a great job in keep my pores invisible. This is currently one of the staples in my daily skincare routine until it runs out 😅. If you don't mind the money, I'd definitely recommend you to give it a try!
