KOREA'S TOP BIO COSMETICS BRAND
It was exactly two months ago when I first learnt about Swanicoco. That was when I received the Swanicoco AC Control Care Skintoner (RM118.90 for 120ML, this is cheaper than Althea's RM130!) in my Althea Trouble Breaker Box (middle item in the picture below). I had a really good first impression of the brand because of its packaging and how the toner felt on my skin. The bottle is sturdy in my hand and the toner softens my skin like no other. Till now I still cannot find another toner that matches its performance! Enough about the toner, let's get to the even more exciting part!
Did you know Althea is celebrating their 2nd birthday now? It's ending this month so be sure to participate in their many giveaways and grab many samples from them before it ends!
THE SWANICOCO LAUNCH
Arriving at The Glass House, the first thing that caught my eyes was an array of Swanicoco products at the far corner. My eyes were pinned on them and all I wanted to do at the moment was run to them. I quickly registered, got my camera and there I was, wowing at the beautifully packaged products and admiring each bottle of Swanicoco products. During the event, we were required to complete three missions to get stars stamped on our cards (I forgot to take picture of the card 😭) and this was one of the missions: understand each product displayed at the counter. They had stationed one Watsons staff member there to explain the use of each product to us.
Can you believe all these are now available in Watsons Malaysia? 😍
A LITTLE HISTORY
Started by Sung Chun-sun in 2003 with handmade cosmetics, Swanicoco's products are sung to be dermatologically safe (pun intended). They are earth-friendly and Swanicoco is committed to using only first grade quality ingredients to create its bio-based skincare products. The event was opened with a performance of the ballet swan lake dance, which is a great representation of the brand's name. Although I love the brand, I didn't know why it's named Swanicoco and that had always bothered me (I NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING!). Now I finally know what it means! "Swan" suggests elegance while "coco" is short for coconut (also means "cute" in French), indicating that Swanicoco offers botanical natural cosmetics. You're welcome 😝
LET'S DO THE PRODUCT TALK!
Enough about the introduction, it's time to talk about what I wanted to talk about the most: the products. Here I will share with you some highlights of the whole Swanicoco range and products that caught my attention the most during the event. Let's start off with one of the four toners carried by Swanicoco.
Bitamin C Calm Down Skin Toner
No, that wasn't a typo. That's the name, Bitamin C. I've used Vitamin C product before and one thing I don't like about it is that it is really sticky on my skin. This one is an exception. It's neither sticky nor greasy and is suitable for troubled skin. It contains fermented extracts and bio ingredients that can nourish sensitive and dry skin and help smoothen rough skin texture. This is highly recommended for those after hypoallergenic products with natural ingredients, is that you?
Swanicoco's skin expert all the way from Korea, Adia Song, demonstrating the use of the toner.
How to use:
Other than just using it as a toner, which you would apply right after cleansing your face, you can also use it as a mask. Soak one facial cotton pad (make sure to use one whose ends are not sealed) with a generous amount of the toner and separate it into multiple layers. Lay those layers on your skin especially on the drier areas such as your mouth or forehead for 5 to 10 minutes. After that, gently pat your skin after removing the cotton pad layers to help with absorption.
Did you know: In Korean, there is no V / F sound so it's common for them to pronounce anything V / F as B / P?
Follow me:
Gold Plant Stem Pure Ampoule (RM253.90 for 40ML)
Gold Plant Stem Pure Ampoule
This is an intensive skincare product which targets dry and rough skin as well as damaged and sensitive skin. Infused with wild ginseng stem cell root and gold extracts (yes, real gold!), the ginseng smell of this ampoule is the strongest I've ever smelled. I could smell it when my friend opened the bottle an arm's length away! If you remember my I'm From Ginseng Review, then you should know that ginseng can help control elasticity of our skin making it a VIP of many anti-ageing products whereas the gold powder in it helps brighten up skin tone. Sounds like a pretty decent product!
How to use:
Just like how you would use a serum, use it between a toner (or an essence if you use one) and your favourite moisturiser.
Did you know: Ampoule is actually just another name of serum?
Multi Solution Triple-V Ampoule (RM210.90 for 50ML)
Enough about the introduction, it's time to talk about what I wanted to talk about the most: the products. Here I will share with you some highlights of the whole Swanicoco range and products that caught my attention the most during the event. Multi Solution Triple-V Ampoule (RM210.90 for 50ML)
Multi Solution Triple-V Ampoule
This one is special because I haven't seen any similar product before. Featuring Sea Buckthorn and Saccharum extract, this ampoule can do both whitening and wrinkle care. When I first saw "Sea Buckthorn", I laughed so hard at the name because it's pronunciation is just too funny (sorry, I'm still very childish). Little did I know that this is a super ingredient that is effective on the skin for burns, wounds, cuts and any kind of skin damage. I need this! You see my chin in my review on the Rivecowe Bubble Mask Pack, my acne scars could use some brightening and smoothening effect from this product!
How to use:
Same as the Gold Plant Stem Pure Ampoule, use it between a toner (or an essence if you use one) and your favourite moisturiser.
Did you know: Sea Buckthorn is also known as Hippophae?
Aida was explaining the use of the third toner, the RH-EGF Pure Ampoule (RM253.90 for 40ML). This is a star product that promotes epidermal cell renewal with the Nobel-Prize formulation of the Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF).
Real Essential Hydro Balancing Oil (RM16.90 for 17g)
Real Essential Hydro Balancing Oil
Also in the range is this sunflower seed + olive oil which is for use at the very last stage of our skincare routine. It combines seven types of vegetable and organic oils and is said to be suitable for all skin types. This smells similar to the cuticle oil I have from Etude House's Cuticle Salon Care Kit, pleasant and relaxing. Other than just using it as a face oil after moisturiser, it can also be blended with skincare products to battle dryness, applied on hair to restore moisture, used as a makeup base to give a dewy finish or used to fix dry brittle nails.
When facepalm involves two humans. 🤦🏻♀️ Just kidding.
How to use:
Drop a few drops on your palms, warm them a little by rubbing lightly, then cover your face with your palms to help with absorption. You can use this both in the morning and at night and mix it with emulsion, essence or cream to increase their benefits on the skin.
Did you know: I've run out of facts to share?
Hello to the beautiful Jazel Lim, a Malaysian social influencer.
FINAL NOTE
Kudos to Swanicoco, they have our whole skincare routine covered except the cleansing and essence steps. That includes toners, ampoules, masks, moisturisers and a facial oil (only a few are introduced here). They also have intensive care products for our pores, such as the Perfect Pore Remove Clear Peeling Pack (RM115.90 for 70g) and Pore Clearance (RM62.90 for 100ML) as well as a Pore Care Tightening Control Mist (RM68.90 for 50ML) suitable for oily skin. I've got two of their masks and some products to try out myself so stay tuned for their reviews!
