|EVENT STORY| Get The Airbrushed Look With NV By Jeunesse

Jeunesse nv range malaysia review
I love how they branded it NV which has the same pronunciation as "envy".

THAT PERFECT MAKEUP LOOK
I watched a lot of Tati's videos and I was most impressed when she was testing out spray-on/airbrush makeup products. Never had I thought I would have the chance to witness the use of them in real life! Jeunesse has even brought in Celebrity Makeup Artist, KF Bong, that day to wow us all with a demonstration of how to use NV products to achieve a professional look in a fraction of the time. So what is NV and what are these products that I'm talking about?

The blue bottle is the foundation whereas the white one is the bronzer.

MAKEUP WITH SKINCARE? YES PLEASE!
NV is a new makeup + skincare product range that Jeunesse Global has recently launched in Malaysia. I'm so glad they have chosen Malaysia as the first market in the Asia Pacific region to introduce this innovative range because I get to meet it and learn about it earlier. I'm all about multitasking makeup products that can do skincare too! That's so I don't feel guilty about putting makeup on my skin! 😂

POLYPEPTIDE TECHNOLOGY?
This whole NV range is formulated with the Jeunesse-exclusive, youth-enhancing polypeptide technology. Polypeptide is basically another name for protein and is made up of amino acids, the basic building block of protein. Polypeptide has been used in many anti-ageing skincare products as it has the ability to help increase collagen production in our skin. As a result, it can help reduce the look of wrinkles.

INTRODUCING THE PRODUCTS
There are three products in this range, i.e. the skin-perfecting NV Primer, the NV BB Mist Foundation and the NV Bronzer. With combined use, they can give an enviable professional airbrush finish in and it won't even take more than five minute of your time because all you need to do is just spray and dab. This is where it drew me in the most because it would be perfect for a lazy soul like mine HAHA. Let me introduce the products one by one to you.

NV Primer
My favourite YouTuber never does her makeup without priming her face first. I'd like to say that's what I do too but the truth is I haven't even got myself a proper primer so, no. And you know, I'm lazy, so I've always found priming an extra step to do which I would love to skip especially during the rush hours (and I always only put on makeup at the very last minute LOL).

Application:
However with the NV Primer now in the market, I feel it's time for me to finally get one. It aims to create a canvas for foundation, fill in fine lines and pores and helps us use less foundation. Application is also easy. All I have to do is just shake the bottle for 5 seconds to mix up the liquid, hold it around 20cm (8 inches) away and spray in a zigzag motion. After that, use a puff to press in the primer and to remove excess moisture. Of course, before all these you'll have to secure your hair away from your face to prevent disaster like this:

NV Foundation
When a smooth canvas is created, it's time to put on the foundation. The NV BB Mist Foundation's main role is to blur skin imperfections and deliver high definition coverage. It has nine flattering shades in total, which I think would be really suitable for us Malaysians' skin tone. You can also mix and blend to create your own shade if none of the shades matches perfectly since one size sometimes doesn't fit all.

Since it is a foundation incorporated with skincare, it'd become so much easier to take care of our skin as part of our makeup routine. It has an anti-ageing formula, hence it does more than conceal. According to Cassiah Jay, the Senior Director of Digital Marketing Jeunesse Global, it also improves and rejuvenates skin as it contains skin nourishing antioxidants, vitamin A and E, as well as nutrient-rich aloe. These ingredients work together to moisturise and prevent dry skin in a lightweight formula.

The foundation is developed for all skin types as it is oil-free and do not contain any phthalates, parabens, sulfates or talc.

With nine shades, they can suit a various range of skin tones.

Application:
Similar to the primer, applying the NV Foundation requires shaking the bottle for 5 seconds before using it. Then, spray onto the centre of your skin in a zigzag motion by holding it 20cm away (remember to get you hair away from your face!). What I love about this one is the coverage is easily adjustable by the number of sprays. One press will give you a light coverage while going at it for three times gives your face a high coverage. It can also be used as a concealer by just holding it around 2.5cm (roughly 1 inch) away and spray onto your finger or a puff before dabbing it on the skin as needed.

NV Bronzer
Now we have done painting the face with one shade, it's time to give it some dimension. This NV Bronzer can be used on the face to contour or even the whole body as a self-tanner (hello summer sun-kissed glow). I personally won't use it as a self-tanner given its size (and price) but I'm really excited about a spray on bronzer! Given its liquid base, I'm guessing it would be able to give a more dewy/natural finish compared to a powder/pressed bronzer.

Application:
Again, you will need to shake the bottle for 5 seconds before spraying it on the face in a circular motion, moving from outside in. If you want to be more precise on where to contour, I think it is better to use a puff. Lightly spray it on a puff by holding it around 2.5cm away and press it on areas where you want to create shadows. If you're after a more natural-looking warmth, the tip is to lightly mist your forehead, your chin and your nose.

FINAL NOTE
For all I know, they are selling them at USD55.95 each in the US but I'm not too sure about their prices in Malaysia. I'll be sure to update it here when the prices are available (it should be as they started selling on the 16th of July, hmm). If they are using the converted price, it'd be around RM240 (using currency rate of USD1 to RM4.28) for roughly 44.36ML (converted from 1.5oz using uncle Google). Pricey? But they are spray on cosmeceutical products that give an airbrush finish.

I'm extremely tempted to get them for myself. Are you? Have you tried spray on or airbrush makeup before? Tell me in the comment section below.

Thank you for reading, see you in the next post!

I was invited to the NV launch demo party by Jeunesse Global Malaysia thanks to Charlene. As usual, all thoughts are mine and 100% honest with all pictures taken by me unless otherwise stated. Please read my disclaimer here.

  3. I'd love to try on spray on makeup, because I imagine it would be lighter and also because of the skincare benefits. The BB spray sounds good, but they sound a bit too expensive too xx

  7. Interesting, but pricy. This really suitable for the busy ladies, simple step for the coverage, just spray. The only thing I wonder was, the mist might stain my clothes if I m having wrong techniques?

    1. I'm having the same doubt too! Saw Tati use it on her YouTube channel before and it was quite a disaster. When the models were testing it out during the event, they were all wearing black Ts so can't really see. :/
