When I first saw the name "Elizabeth Arden", the first thing that came to my mind was the Advanced Ceramide Capsules, yeap that one below👇🏼👇🏼. HAHA I guess none of you are surprised by that. But when I dug further to understand more (yeah, I'm that random and spontaneous), I finally realised that Elizabeth Arden is more than just a brand. But that's not all about Ms. Arden, the founder of the brand which was named after her. She was also an ardent feminist who was known for supporting the suffragettes by handing red lipsticks to them when they marched past her Red Door Salon & Spa on New York's Fifth Avenue back in 1912. If you google 'suffrage', you would notice that this term was more famously used before 1919 when women did not have the right to vote in political election.

Can you imagine that wearing red lipstick wasn't a socially acceptable practice at the time? But because of Ms. Arden's action, red lipsticks have then become a symbol of the women's movement. To continue her legacy in supporting women's movement, Elizabeth Arden, the brand, now introduces the March On campaign. Through this campaign it aims to advocate for women and honour its ability to be forces of change in the world.

It not only aims to collect a philanthropic donation for UN Women, but also to ask women to unite to help each other achieve their full potential, according to Kara Langan, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, Elizabeth Arden. "Whether by creating female-centric support systems or propelling each other in their professional lives, when women stand together they can enact great change in the world," Ms. Langan explains, I totally agree with her!

Even Reese Witherspoon herself, yes the actress, supports this. The lipstick shade that they select is her signature colour Red Door Red. Wait, what lipstick shade? Hehe. Elizabeth Arden Malaysia also recently just organised a dialogue session/panel of which they had a discussion on bringing women into highly men-dominant areas such as technology and politics. YB Hannah Yeoh, a current Speaker and a member of the Selangor State Assembly from the Democratic Action Party ( DAP) was one of the panelists along with SushiVid's founder, Wen Foong. YB highlighted a few things which I think all women should always bear in mind:

1. As woman, don’t play victim. We are certainly not and do not need to be.
2. Don’t feel guilty if you have to go home for your family affairs. Embrace all your roles.
3. Change happens at the legislation level.
4. Have a good support system - friends, family, team that will back you up no matter what.
5. Learn to say NO.
