AN ATTEMPT AT SKIN-SAVING
If you read my review on The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% or Salicylic Acid 2% Solution, you will notice that my skin looks really awful in the 4-5 months leading up to now. Not to lie, it was a really depressing period for me. I just could not look at myself in the mirror and I would do anything to get my smooth skin back. That's when I decided I should invest in a FOREO Luna 2. Yes, I call it an investment, because I feel it is my skin that I am taking care of, a long term asset that I will forever own (haha that is the accountant in me talking).
I GOT FOREO LUNA BLUE
I did a quiz on FOREO (click on it to go directly to the quiz page) to know which Luna 2 suits me. It ended with it being the FOREO Luna Blue, which is meant combination skin. That makes perfect sense since I have combination skin. The bristles on the FOREO Luna Blue change from being bigger on the top to a little smaller at the bottom, tailored to washing combination skin where the tip is meant for oilier areas, such as the nose, and the bottom part for the drier areas, such as the cheeks.
IT IS WATERPROOF
What is amazing about this FOREO Luna 2 is that it is waterproof. Although its charging port is exposed, i.e. there is no lid to protect it from water entry, it just manages to keep water off. That just amazes me. I would often use it when I'm showering and will always wet it before I use it to wash my face. It has never once malfunctioned or made any funny noise. Just quietly, it would vibrate and remove up to 99.5% of oil and dirt from the skin.
CHARGING FOREO LUNA 2
Honestly, I have never charged my FOREO Luna 2 once ever since I bought it and started using it in May 2019. It is now November 2019 and my FOREO Luna 2 is still working at full force, not showing any sign of battery depletion. That is another thing about this Swedish technology that really astonishes me. I can happily bring this to a trip without its charging cable not having to worry that I will run out of battery although it's not like the cable is super heavy or what, but yeah you get the point haha.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It has little bristles which utilises up to two times the T-Sonic™ power to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, unclog pores of makeup residue and remove up to 99.5% of dirt and oil that can contribute to adult-onset acne breakouts. This is the exact reason why I was drawn to this, I was getting tonnes of adult-onset acne breakouts! This FOREO Luna 2 also has built in timer. I will explain more in the HOW TO USE part.
WHAT IS T-SONIC POWER?
The "T" in T-sonic stands for transdermal. The sonic will be able to penetrate deep into our skin layers and therefore cleans the pores wonderfully. The FOREO Luna 2 can channel up to 8,000 pulsations per minute and the pulsations are channelled through silicone touch-points, i.e. the bristles. Don't be scared by me using the word bristles. They are super soft silicone that you can brush through lightly just using your finger. It is very gentle on the skin.
HOW TO USE
It took me awhile to grasp so here's little guide for you. Spread your favourite cleanser on your face, I normally use this Fresh Soy Face Cleansing Milk. Pressing the button in front once will turn it on. Start with the bristle part first. The device will vibrate for 1 minute with four 15-second interval. Every interval there will be a brief pause, signalling you to move on to another section of your skin. After that 1 minute, it will vibrate in a different rhythm for 3 times, indicating that it is currently moving on to the "Massage" mode.
Note:
Please remember that you are dealing with your delicate skin and not some pot that you just accidentally burnt. Do not use it to brush your face like you are trying to get through a tangled mess of hair. Be gentle and just lightly press it on the skin and go in circles.
ENTERING ANTI-AGING MODE
You can either continue to use it to massage your face or press on the front button to pause it temporarily. It won't turn the device off (it will automatically turn off after 3 minutes though). I always pause it to wash off the cleanser on my skin as I do not want to massage any of the dirt I just remove back into my pores again LOL. After washing, I will press on the button again and straight using it to massage my still-wet skin. But this time I am not using the bristle part, I will turn it around to wavy back part of the FOREO LUNA 2.
WHAT IS FOREO'S WARRANTY?
FOREO warrants this home beauty device for a period of 2 years after the original date of purchase against defects due to faulty workmanship or materials arising from normal use of the device. It will cover working parts that affect the function of the device but does not cover cosmetic deterioration caused by fair wear and tear, or damage caused by accident, misuse or neglect. Any attempt to open or take apart the device (or its accessories) will also immediately void the warranty.
HOW TO CLAIM FOREO WARRANTY?
If there is a defect you must report to FOREO within the warranty period. FOREO will then replace the device free of charge. You will have to prove to FOREO that the date of the claim is within the warranty period so it's best to keep your original receipts and the serial number sticker under the product until the 2-year warranty period ends. Also note that replacement products claimed under the warranty will not entitled to renewed 2-year warranty coverage.
DO I NEED TO REGISTER?
Yes! You will need to activate the 2-Year Limited Warranty by registering the number provided on the FOREO Authenticity Card under the REGISTER PRODUCT section in your FOREO account. Just scroll to the bottom of FOREO's website and under the "Customer Care" section, you will find "Product Registration". Follow the steps detailed on the page to register your product. SERIOUSLY, GIVE IT A TRY
If this is within your budget, it is really worth investing. I always believe that our skin is something that we carry with us until the day we die and it is our duty to maintain its health. I do not think it is vain for us to want beautiful skin and of course it is not realistic to hope for porcelain skin because that is just not possible (unless you are a baby LOL). I just thought of sharing this with you because I think it works for my skin. I have seen fewer breakouts and definitely-smoother complexion coming by and I just hope this can help you too!
p.s. the anti-aging mode, hmm, not so much. Can't really see much difference being made but maybe I should use it more persistently and for a longer period to see a major effect!
