ANOTHER SUNCREAM REVIEW
I'm really excited about this one. It is a brand new member of Dear Klairs and has only been launched in less than a month ago. I've been meaning to write this review since last week, but was really caught up with studies and exams so I waited another week before I come here to pen down my 2 cents on this new UV Essence. Honestly, I only have good things to say about it. Three weeks of testing is pretty sufficient for me to justify why I love it so much so here we go!

YAS, THE GOOD ONES
Butylene Glycol, Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate are all powerful moisturisers. Hence this could potentially be a life saver for those of you with extremely dry skin!
Both Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate and Ethylhexyl Triazone are organic compounds. Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate is used in sunscreens to absorb UVA radiation while Ethylhexyl Triazone is to absorb UVB radiation
Glycerin can help keep the skin hydrated and keep the overactive oil glands under control.

Niacinamide is a vitamin B3 derivatives best known for its skin brightening properties. It can reduce pigmentation as it prevents melanin from migrating to the epidermis. I've seen it featured in many other Klairs products. With this, this product is able to help bring out the glow and give the dull skin a good makeover. Not just that, it is also good as an anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing ingredient (read this article if you want to know more)! What's best about it is that it helps stabilise vitamin C and shows enhanced effects when used with vitamin C.
Adenosine is a great anti-wrinkle ingredient. It is capable of boosting the levels of proteins such as Collagen and Elastin, thereby being able to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and promote wound healing. Oh boy, I need this for my skin (ya I know I'm only in my 20s, but prevention needs to start early!). According to Wishtrend, adenosine can also effectively improves acne caused by oily skin!

Tocopherol (Vitamin E) is a major lipid-soluble antioxidant in the skin. It protects the skin against peroxide and pro-oxidants and can prevent oxidation in cosmetics. If Vitamin E levels are insufficient, harmful foreign substances can easily invade as our skin's protective function will be weakened. This can cause our skin to age faster. Hence, by ensuring our skin gets the vitamin E it needs, we can slow down cell ageing by reducing lipid peroxidation. Vitamin E can also help soften our skin and soothe inflammation as well as protect our skin against sun damage. Now that I recall, my orthopaedic surgeon has actually prescribed me a vitamin E cream for the scars on my knee after my knee surgery.
Lastly, we have Allantoin. An ingredient that aims to improve dry and rough skin as it provides our skin with intensive moisture. Being a skin conditioner, it is also known for its ability to soothe irritated skin and protect our skin from external irritants and dirt.

NAH, THE BAD ONES
I must say, other than that two ingredients above (asterisked), there's nothing else that can be potentially bad to any of the skin type! Klairs really means it when it declares a product safe for sensitive skin!
WHAT MATTERS MOST?
To call something a new favourite, there are a few things that matter to me most when it comes to choosing the right suncream. Because honestly, none of us likes spending money on something we might end up not liking and the pain of it doesn't work out in the end is simply unbearable. #feelme? So, the number one most important thing is that it has at least SPF50 and PA+++ (this has SPF50+ and PA++++!). That's the basic requirement I need for my suncream.
The suncream is white in colour and has a gel-like texture.
THAT'S IT?
Of course not. My suncream should also not cause any breakout, is moisturising enough that I can skip my moisturiser in the morning and is NOT oily. These are just the bare minimums. The reason Dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence is one of the very few that made it to my list, is because it also doesn't leave white cast and is not sticky. Not to mention it even has anti-aging properties and it comes with a much bigger size of 80ML compared to the usual 50ML.
It certainly does not leave a trace of application other than the moisturising effect my hand feels.
UV ESSENCE?
I know, the name is a little vague. This is a chemical suncream that is water-based (that's why it feels so moisturising!) and holds a gel-type texture to give a soft weightless and light finish. Being a chemical suncream, it does not need titanium dioxide, which is commonly used in physical suncream and has a bad reputation of leaving white cast (I hate that!). Also with its high SPF and PA level, it can completely shield our skin from UVA and UVB.

HOW MUCH TO PUT?
I always put this on in the morning as the last step of my skincare routine before my makeup. I'd squeeze out a 1cm diameter circle on palm then dot it on my forehead, my cheeks, chin and nose before I go on to pat it out. I almost always will top up with a little more (based on my own feel haha). Just want to make sure I don't miss out a spot so that I won't be surprise-attacked by a sun spot that pops out of nowhere one day haha!

TAKING IT OFF
You should always double cleanse at the end of the day to clean off all the dirt and suncream that you apply in the morning. Not only it helps maintains our skin condition, it prevents your pores from getting clogged and thereby reduces any event of breakout! I'm sure you're not interested in that, aren't you? Clean it with a cleansing oil, followed by a cleansing water / cleansing foam / cleansing milk / micellar water of your choice.
IT'S NOT TOUGH
Deciding whether I'm liking this new UV Essence and whether I'm going to recommend it to you guys here is simple. It is a no-hesitation yes! C'mon, with all the plus points and close to zero imperfections, I just have to! Moreover, my skin never ends up becoming a greasy mess at the end of the day even though I have combination skin! But I'd definitely recommend applying some loose powder if you aren't exactly a fan of dewy skin because this babe gives off the dewy skin look.
