Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray review

WHAT'S NEW
This Movement Control Order really does not have an end to it. It has now been extended to May. Sigh. I have already got so used to the current situation that my mind was so calm when the Prime Minister announced that MCO has been extended haha. Well, I guess I can get more time to myself for another 14 days! Not too bad eh? Anyway, I have been using the Avène Thermal Spring Water for a while now, I think it's time to give it a review!

Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray review
All the information you will ever need in understanding this bottle of cooling spray.

YAS, ALL ARE GOOD
There is really nothing much for me to explain here. The ingredient list is so straight forward, containing only water and nitrogen. Nitrogen makes up 78% of the air we breathe. Its presence helps to propel the water out as a spray.

The thermal water is no common tap water though. Based on researches, the thermal water within the Avène bottle contains Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Chlorides, Bicarbonates, Sulfates, Nitrates and Silica (SiO2). It has a pH of 7.5 and with the calcium to magnesium ratio at 2 to 1, it can help to improve skin texture. The minerals also give the water the ability to soften skin, restore skin barrier and calm itching sensations and irritation.

TOO SIMPLE
The ingredient list is so simple that I really don't have much to say about it. Since it is just water (and some nitrogen), there is no smell to it and the texture is, just like water. One thing about water is that it never expires. So if you happen to come across a sale, you can purchase a few of them to keep and you don't have to worry about it going bad. I got mine at a discount of RM25 and had I known about this earlier, I would have bought a few more!

HOW TO USE
The bottle comes with an aerosol spray. Just hold it at a 8 to 10cm distance and spray your face in a zig-zag motion. After a few minutes, pat your skin to help it absorb better. I personally like using it after an exfoliation session using my The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution as it helps soothe and cool my skin down quickly. In the morning on weekdays, I love to use it as a toner. Yeap, you saw it right, toner. The reason is that it absorbs fast and it gives my skin a cooling sensation that is really comfortable, preparing my skin for the products that I use later.

Just take it a spray at a distance of 8-10cm. Remember to close your eyes!

NOT JUST THAT
Because the thermal spring water is captured directly at it source in Avène and bottled in a sterile environment, all its soothing and softening properties are preserved well. Hence according to Avène, you can use it after surgical procedures, hair removal, makeup removal exercising and shaving to help calm your skin. You can also use it on sunburnt area and to soothe redness on skin since it is tailored for those who have sensitive, hypersensitive, allergic or irritated skin. P.S. I will sometimes use it to wet my beauty sponge for foundation application too!

Can you see how fine the mist is?

I THINK...
I am a fan immediately after my first time using it. It refreshes my skin and helps reduce whatever redness that shows up uninvited on my face. If you ask me, I will recommend this Avène Thermal Spring Water if you are looking for a refreshing spray or if you need some quick fix that can tone down the redness/irritation on your skin (e.g. after removing makeup). To be frank, I do think that its price point is a little high, but if you have the budget or are thinking to pamper your skin a little, do give it a try!

Can you see the tiny tiny droplets? That's why it can absorb quickly into the skin. The redness on my skin has also subsided a little. Hehe, that's how amazing this Avène Thermal Spring Water is!
