Belif Tinted Moisturizer Powdery Bb review

CAN YOU BELIF IT?
It's less than 10 days away from Christmas! I really can't can't get any more excited! I love all the Christmas songs and those Christmas decorations in the malls are the grandest and prettiest of all. Which is why, I want to help you get ready for the best festival of the year by sharing with you a BELIF Christmas Box that I received two weeks ago! There are four products in it and I've reviewed the last three products in my previous posts. Now, let's do the last one and you'd be equipped with all you need to decide whether you want to get them for this upcoming festival!

The products in this Belif Christmas box are all the basic products that we all should own. They are the:

4. Belif Tinted Moisturizer Powdery B.B.

That is the sequence of which I have reviewed them in. I've included the other Belif products from this Christmas box and their respective links. Feel free to check them out if you're interested! Today, I'm going to review the last product in the box, which I've also used as the last step in my morning skincare routine. And it is...

TO BE HONEST
I wasn't very excited when I saw this in the package. No offence. I'm not a huge fan of tinted moisturiser (especially one that has a word: POWDERY) because I'm extremely concerned that it will clog my pores and create more issues to my (already troubled) skin. But it would be really unfair to this baby if I just dismiss it without first giving it a say. So I let my guard down and I gave it a try. Are you curious about how it turned out to be? Read on! HAHA!

BEFORE WE GO...
Let's take a look at its ingredient list.

(Skincarisma)

Bolded are the good/star ingredients in the product whereas underlined are those flagged as 3 & above under 'Safety index' in by EWG. Safety index ranges from 1-9 and the lower the number means the less hazardous. Those with asterisk (*) are more likely to cause acne than those without.

THE GOOD ONES
Containing Canna Indica Root Extract, which comes all the way from the Caribbean, this tinted moisturiser has a natural ability to control excess sebum. That makes perfect sense because this moisturiser is specially made for the oily skin peeps like me and some of you. According to Belif's website, the moisturiser (or cream, as they called it) helps leave our skin smooth and refreshed all day long.

Other than that, how can a moisturiser pass as a moisturiser without having Glycerin, a powerful moisturising agent, in it? Glycerin can help keep the skin hydrated while the oil glands are being kept under control. One more ingredient in the list that caught my eyes is Titanium Dioxide. That makes this moisturiser a physical sunscreen as it has the ability to deflect and scatter the skin-damaging UV rays to keep our skin protected.

A typical sunblock tube design, which makes it super hygienic.

THE GOOD ONES (cont'd)
Also, like its comrades, this Belif moisturiser does not contain any mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, synthetic dyes, synthetic preservatives and animal-origin ingredients. Belif also mentions on its website that this one can delay the initial stage of skin ageing with its anti-oxidising, calming, and anti-blemish properties!

THE BAD ONES
If you know your skin is particularly sensitive, you may have to look out for these two ingredients: Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil and Geranium Maculatum Oil. They may irritate some EXTRA sensitive skin and cause unwanted issues so patch test is the way to go. The last few underlined ingredients on the list are all there to give this moisturiser a better smell. So far, none of these ingredients has caused me any issue and I hope they won't to you too (patch test!)!

A peanut size of it on the back of my hand (which is also more than enough for my whole face).

IT IS A 3-IN-1
For now, I've been using it for one whole week, putting it on as a sunscreen in the last step of my skincare routine. That's because other than being a moisturiser, it also has SPF43 and PA+++, which, to me, is a more-than-ideal sunblock (remember my guide on how to choose the right sunblock?). Not just that, by using this, I can skip using three products in my morning routine, namely, moisturiser, sunblock and BB cream. Why? Because being 'tinted', it means it provides some coverage which is great for a natural daily look (see pictures below)!

THE ONE THING THAT CHANGED MY MIND
I have been wanting a colour-cancelling product forever but I have been refraining myself from getting it because I'm on a money diet. Guess I've been lucky! Because this one can actually cancel out the yellow undertone of skin (although I initially wanted the green-cancels-red one, but that's okay, I just want to play with something that cancels colour HAHA)! Having a greyish tone, it manages to cools down my skin tone a little and this makes me like it a little more!

It looks very natural on my hand and it has cancelled out the yellow undertone of my skin. However, it did eat into my fine lines a little and sightly accentuated their existence. We need to see how it works out on my face!

LET'S SEE IT IN ACTION
So I finally put it on my face. I usually dot it on my skin before starting to pat it in. I can literally feel the moisture level increasing when I'm patting my skin and that feeling just reminds me of the COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream so much! However it takes a while for me to evenly spread out the cream especially since it is tinted. I don't want to end up looking patchy and funny! But since I don't have to use any BB cream / foundation afterwards, I'm okay with that. It also comes with a lemon cheesecake smell, which is similar to Benton Papaya D-Sun Cream's.

LUCKILY IT DOESN'T
I told you I was initially afraid that it will break me out. But it didn't, and I'm delighted! Although I did feel that it got a little stickier throughout the day even though I was in an air-conditioned room the whole day. I noticed that it usually gave out around 6 hours after application, becoming a little stickier, oilier and less comfortable on the skin than before. It manages to last a little over 7 hours on my nose if I put on some loose powder from W.Lab in the morning.

PIMPLES COMING AND GOING
I am going to show you how well it covers up the blemishes on my skin below. Please forgive my skin condition, which has worsened a lot over the last few months due to some internal / hormonal issues (I've been to multiple doctors to get it checked out so don't worry!). It has been slowly recovering and I tried my best to avoid trying new products in case I accidentally use something that can cause my skin react adversely to. That is also partly why I haven't been posting as frequently as before. Yet I just couldn't stop myself from getting these Belif cuties. Thank God my skin loves them!

The yellow undertone is gone (still natural!) and my skin definitely looks much much smoother that it was before! The coverage is about 70%, which I think is extraordinary for a tinted moisturiser.

YAY OR NAY?
Although I haven't become a super fan, I don't hate it. I don't plan to keep a tinted moisturiser in my permanent skincare collection since I sometimes prefer wearing just a normal sunblock and leave my skin as it is without any coverage / makeup. BUT I would recommend it if you're looking for a time saving (and definitely money saving) alternative for your morning routine! Did I mention it has a matte finish too (look at the name of the product, it says POWDERY LOL!)? So if you're not digging into the whole CHOK CHOK trend, this can become your babe! 😍

p.s. but if you do, you can check out my CHOK CHOK guide which I did using Half Moon Eyes products.

Cleaning it using my Bioderma Sensibio H2O. Make sure you clean it up real well to prevent it from congesting your pores!

  1. I'm really impressed with your knowledge on deciphering the product ingredients - so young & knowledgeable. Fortunately, EWG has reviewed their database bcos Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil & Geranium Maculatum Oil are now rated as #1 only - good news, right? But the last few - Citral, Citronellol, Limonene, Geraniol & Linalool are still quite frightful. Sometimes, it can be tough making a safe & healthy choice while keeping up with new research developments. But I think Belif is ok to use. That's why I have a few at home. ;)
