|REVIEW| TIA'M My Signature Vita B5 Toner: Hydra B5 Boosting Toner

HIATUS EXPLAINED
I'm thinking of taking a break after this post and spend my weekends on something else. It just felt a little overwhelming at the moment especially since my work is quite taxing these few months. But there are some products that I've been trying out lately and I just couldn't wait anymore to share them here with you guys. Today, the limelight is on a new member to the TIA'M family, the My Signature Vita B5 Toner.

The ingredient list on the box.

I love how simple the ingredient list is. It does not have any fragrance or added preservatives that might irritate some of our skin. It's been a while since I come across a simple but powerful ingredient list like this one!

YAS, THE GOOD ONES
Butylene Glycol, Panthenol, Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate are all powerful moisturisers. Hence this Hydra B5 Boosting Toner could potentially be a life saver for those of you with extremely dry skin! Not just that, Hydrolysed Collagen can also effectively soothe and moisturise the skin.

Citric Acid is an anti-ageing ingredient. It is a kind of AHA so they can also act as a pH buffer i.e. to help adjust our skin's acidity. Not just that, they also promote skin peeling (exfoliation) and re-growth which is why they are frequently used in anti-aging products.

Promotes Wound Healing: Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate
Anti-Aging: Citric Acid

It is a colourless watery liquid.

NAH, THE BAD ONES
It's always a pleasant surprise to have not seen anything alarming in an ingredient list. Judging from the list, this is definitely a toner that is suitable for all skin types. The Citric Acid in it might irritate sensitive skin if the concentration is too high. However, seeing that it is the last ingredient on the list, I don't think it matters! But of course, I'd always encourage you to do patch testing before putting it to your whole face.

Patting it in~

HOW I USE IT
The toner has been in my routine for three weeks now. I've noted no breakout and I even think my skin is smoother because of it. I use it day and night to prepare my skin for the product I'm using after it. The toner itself is very watery. I'd pour it on my palm (usually a 1cm-diameter circle) then warm it a little between my palms before I pat it in my skin. You can also choose to use a cotton pad as recommended to apply the toner.
Look how the toner has slid down my skin before I even managed to take a picture of it.

TEXTURE AND SMELL
It feels like water but is slightly more slippery. It can be easily spread out on the skin, leaving a smooth canvas ready for the next product. I like that it doesn't have any smell. Those of you who have concerns over heavily fragranced products, this is what you should be seriously considering! It also feels very comfortable on the skin once put on. Your skin won't feel tacky or suffocated because this toner is very light and moisturising (just look at the ingredient list).

After spreading out, it leaves no trace of application at all! Not even the tiniest bit of stickiness.

IT ALLOWS LAYERING
Because of how light and comfy it is, I can safely layer other products on it without having to worry much. Malaysia's hot weather really does not permit too much layering but this allows me to put on one or two products more than usual. That way I can maximise my skincare routine and still keep my skin feeling just like itself. This is super important to me because my work keeps me in the office for more than 12 hours 😭 and I can only wash my face when I get back home.

This is after three weeks of use.

WORTH THE PRICE
Priced at USD14.88 (approx. RM60), this is surely one of the most affordable toners. Its 180ML size makes it a very long-lasting product that is worth every penny. If you look at my Vita B5 Toner bottle above, my three-week of continuous usage only reduced it by that much! And I have always identified myself as a super generous skincare product user haha! What's better than something that is affordable, comes with plenty of product and last a long time?

Here's the before and after picture, are you convinced? See the next one!

After using the toner for three weeks! I've not changed a single thing about my routine other than adding this toner in.
